OpenTricky 0.1.1 is coming soon. Until then, the download is the v0.1.0-unstable test build, and the guides on this site already describe 0.1.1.
Known issues
From most to least serious. If your problem isn't listed, please report it.
| Severity | Problem | What to do for now |
|---|---|---|
| Low | At the start of a race, the picture can briefly look doubled or shifted with some settings. We're looking into it. | Tell us your settings in #bug-reports. |
| Low | Frame rate drops when riders collide, and Snowdream runs slower than other tracks. | No workaround yet. |
| Low | High frame rates: during a hitch, riders and the camera can still briefly "rubber band". | Set Frame rate limit to 60 if it bothers you. |
| Low | Above 60 FPS, the controls answer one game step later (about 17 ms). The interpolated frames need this. With the default limit, this applies on screens above 60 Hz. | Set Frame rate limit to 60 for the Xbox's exact timing. |
| Low | Split screen: if both players are on the same controller, the second view shows the first player. | Give each player their own controller. |
| Low | The sound may crackle on some PCs. | Raise Audio delay in the launcher. |
| Minor | Only Xbox-style (XInput) controllers are supported natively, so Button style: Auto shows Xbox buttons. | Use Steam Input or DS4Windows, and choose PlayStation modern or PS2 original in Button style. |
| Minor | With the PlayStation button styles, the replay help still calls the Select button BACK. | Nothing to do: it is the Select button. |
| Minor | Steam Deck and Linux (Proton) are not tested yet, the Steam Deck preset included. | Reports are welcome in #bug-reports. |
| Minor | 5.1 surround is not yet tested on real 5.1 speakers. | Reports are welcome. |
| Minor | Some pieces of terrain show visible seams. Probably the original game too; we're checking. | Nothing to do. |
| Minor | Snow spray and trails can look smaller or fainter than you remember. We found no error in the port: they match what the game itself draws. | Nothing to do. We're still comparing against a real console. |
| Minor | Far and Max draw distance: a track may show odd scenery far away. | Switch back to Original, and tell us which track it was. |
